Back to beadies

In the last couple of months I’ve been really stressed and busy. There’s been some upheaval on the work front which has stressed me out. To relax, I went back to my old friends - seed beads. Then I invested in a couple of books- some good, some so-so and others really great. One in particular gave me some new ideas. I’ve taken a self-study crash course on colour (Never knew hue, saturation and value can make it or break it for color combinations!) I am now dilligently working on a couple of freeform netting colour flow pieces. I’ll post some picks as soon as its done.

Life takes over

Ever noticed how sometimes the things that you planned to do just falls by the wayside? They just have to wait till the rest of your life plays out. Well, I've been experiencing a bit of that lately.

There's been no time to do any of the artsy craftsy things I had planned. In three weeks time, we'll have a bit of a break(holiday). I'll wait till then to do everything that I'm itching to do.

Butterfly mosaic mirror

So my youngest daughter decides that her room needs a new look. Colors- bright pink and dark purple!! I very reluctantly (and fearfully) go along with the color scheme. She loves all things girly (being a six year old) and adores butterflies.

I find this old round mirror and convert it to a butterfly mirror using pieces of chipped, broken mirror and colored tiles. And voila- recycling in action!
Needless to say she loves her wall decoration! I , on the other hand, had lots of fun doing something artsy craftsy again. Win-win situation!

Maiden voyage

So I"ve decided. This is it. My first baby steps into the world of blogging. There has been nothing difficult about it thus far.

Why do it? No clue...... but welcome to my world. Doing things when the mood hits is much more interesting than planning out every little detail (in my humble opinion). Adds a little excitement to life, no?
